Feed Spokane Coalition Shared Food List

 We have been working for some time to establish a central location where we can stage food, including adequate freezer space and prep-kitchen facilities. We are excited to announce that Feed Spokane is partnering with Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels to use their new prep-Kitchen facility located at 218 North Crestline (3 blocks north of Sprague on Crestline). This will be our staging location for food pick-ups. This will simplify things for us (and hopefully for you, as well) and enable us to do more regular food distributions.

 The following items are available for IMMEDIATE pickup as of Monday, May 11, between 10:00AM and Noon (or Call or e-mail me to make arrangements to pick up).  All Items are frozen unless otherwise noted. “Pans” are 4-inch deep disposable aluminum hotel pans or ½ pans as noted. Generally speaking, one “pan” of food can feed up to 20 people.

Feed Spokane is working with local industry professionals, 2nd Harvest, Women and Children's Free Restaurant, and other coalition partners to offer Serve Safe Training and Certifications to our Meal Site Supervisors and key staff.  Based on input from the September Coalition meeting we are tentatively going to offer the class in two half day segments in October.  Participants will be asked to contribute $25.00 toward the certification test costs.  This is an excellent opportunity to ensure "Best Practices" are utilized at your meal site, as well as gain up to date information on what the latest food safety procedures are.  For more information please contact Maurice Smith at 509-216-7364
